I Read "One for the Money" One More Time!

Just couldn't resist revisiting some of my favorite characters since the movie is now out and causing quite a stir. Frankly, I liked the movie. I wouldn't have cast some of the actors who were in it.

For example, Debbie Reynolds for Grandma Mazur? Did they read the book? I have NOTHING against Debbie Reynolds, In fact, I love her and think she's beautiful...too beautiful to fit the description of Grandma Mazur----not kooky enough.

Lula was great. I think  Sherri Shepherd  fit the description of Lula --maybe Lula was a little bit bigger but hey Sherri had the attitude down.

And Ranger and Joe --well, I wasn't happy at first...but they kind of grow on you. But why didn't the movie director ask Daniel Sunjata (Ranger) to grow his hair long.... in the first book, Ranger is described : "His straight black hair was slicked back in a ponytail." That was a disappointment even if Daniel has a cute smile.

Joe Morelli is Italian, not Irish...and Jason O'Mara was born in Dublin, I think that makes him Irish from birth. Don't get me wrong. I think Jason O'Mara is hot! He just isn't Joe Morelli hot!

I could live with Katherine Heigl - she's a little tall, thin and gorgeous but with her hair dyed and the outfits she word in the movie I think she was an okay Stephanie.

Bottom line-- with a book this good, it would be darn hard to cast it---every reader has his or her own vision of what the characters look like. I wouldn't want that job, although I would have researched just a little.
